On A Mission
REALFAST began with a familiar frustration: you're rushing between commitments, you're hungry, and every available option is ultra-processed or shut. Our founders kept finding themselves in front of vending machines full of junk, thinking, "Why can't this be different?"
That question turned into a plan: combine carefully curated products with a smart, low-power machine and a simple web app that makes nutrition transparent in seconds.

Our Journey
The Idea
It all started when our founders were putting in one of a string of late nights at a co-working space. With no healthy food options in sight—and even the neighbouring express supermarket locked up for the evening—they were forced to shill for yet another expensive, fat-and-carb-loaded delivery meal. Our founders wondered: why can't the vending machine in the office lobby offer nutritious, macro-counted food that supports health and wellbeing?
First Steps
After months of research, product testing and machine prototyping, we installed our first REALFAST machine—affectionately known as "Bert"—at Electric Works in Sheffield in 2025. It's our home base, our testbed and a live example of how healthy, transparent vending can work in a busy building.
What's Next
From here, we're rolling out to more student accommodation, co-working spaces, fitness studios and workplaces across Sheffield and beyond. Each new machine is tuned to the people who use that space: the products they actually want, the dietary needs they actually have, and the transparency they need to make informed choices.
